Future LAN Explorations and the Kitfox Festival
Moon Hunters Patch Notes — August 7, 2025
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Hey y'all!
In our last update we made an announcement about the status of the servers, which you can read in full here. Thank you to everyone who responded so passionately, we are truly touched so many of you also care about the game. We have since had more conversations and have decided to look into allowing players to connect and play online, but only via LAN. Unlike Netcode for GameObjects and Unity Gaming Services and third-party options like Mirror, LAN wouldn’t require a complete re-implementation of the networking making it much more feasible for our team.
We’ll have more news about this in the future, but for now we wanted to assure you that we are dedicated to adding these capabilities, which will also open up more opportunities for modders. But it will take us a bit of time, since we need to borrow a programmer from Streets of Fortuna for a little while, and they need to finish a few things first.
For now, we are celebrating the annual Kitfox Festival with our entire catalogue on sale, including Moon Hunters at 90% off.
In case you missed it, we just released The Art of Moon Hunters artbook on Steam for the first time ever. Complete your collection with this stunning collection of art told from the perspective of an archeologist delving into legends from an ancient world.

And finally, our friends at A Sharp also just announced their brand new procedural adventure game, Thousand Hells: The Underworld Heists. If you're into kaleidoscopic worlds and ancient psychopomp mythology then this might be for you. You can watch the announcement trailer here and wishlist the game on Steam now:
