Dorasyeoda Patch Notes — February 5, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
🌊 Hello, this is Merlin's Attic, the development team behind 「Dorasyeoda」.
Already, one month of 2026 has passed, and we have arrived at February.
During this time, we prioritized showing tangible progress to those who have been patiently waiting for Dorasyeoda, and as a result, we were unable to share development logs as frequently as we had hoped.
However, since our last developer letter, many of you—having waited for quite some time—have reached out with a common question:
“How far along is the development right now?”
In response to your voices, we would like to share a portion of what we are currently working on, and what kinds of changes have taken place along the way.
In our previous developer letter, we mentioned that starting this year, our goal is to deliver updates sequentially.
For the upcoming update, rather than immediately increasing visible content, we are focusing on laying a solid foundation to support the stories of Chapters 1 through 3.
As part of this process, we are revisiting Chapter 0 and revising areas that require adjustment.
We came to the conclusion that if these issues were not addressed now, they could become obstacles when unfolding the story later on.
At the same time, we are steadily improving elements that may disrupt immersion during gameplay.
While you wait for the upcoming update, we hope that sharing our development progress can offer a small token of appreciation for your patience.
Moving forward, we plan to share development updates as consistently as possible.
Worldbuilding Revision
One of the areas that required the most time during this development phase was a comprehensive review and refinement of the existing worldbuilding.
We revisited and reorganized the foundational elements of Dorasyeoda’s setting—culture, economy, religion, technology, and political systems—one by one, with the aim of strengthening the narrative’s core.
Among these, the most significant change concerns the class system, which forms the backbone of Dorasyeoda’s story.

Previously, the class structure consisted of the Ruby, the Lapis, the Amber, and the Shadow.
However, upon re-evaluating the setting, we concluded that this structure lacked social plausibility.
Excluding the Ruby, which represents royalty, society was effectively composed only of the Lapis and the Shadow, while the Amber amounted to nothing more than non-human mechanical entities.
In other words, the society functioned as a structure where all citizens were either nobles or slaves.
We determined that this was a national structure that would be difficult to sustain in the long term.
As a result, we introduced a new commoner class, the Jade, and revised the class system to the Ruby, the Lapis, the Jade, and the Shadow.

The Ruby acts as the proxy of the god, delivering divine will and overseeing the order of New Joseon.
The Lapis assists the Ruby by governing the detailed workings of the state and shaping the flow of order.
The Jade represents the general populace that forms the foundation of order, producing goods in accordance with its flow.
The Shadow occupies the lowest tier of the hierarchy, serving the upper classes in an effort to atone for sins committed in a past life, thereby forming the very base of the system.
Additionally, the former the Amber (mechanical humans) has been renamed Indugeop (literally “human husks,” meaning human-shaped shells or disguises).
The Indugeop exist outside the class system and act to enforce divine will by eliminating those who go against the flow of order.
Following this change, characters Yeso and Gilchan—previously classified as the Shadow in Chapter 0—have been reclassified as the Jade under the revised setting.
Alongside the class system overhaul, we are steadily revising existing scripts that conflicted with the worldbuilding.
Members of the Lapis class will no longer use honorific language toward the Shadow class.
Acts of defiance or refusal to serve the Lapis by the Shadow are likewise no longer permitted under Narin’s order.
Additional Notes

We have also written a wide range of worldbuilding documents and background settings. However, to avoid diminishing the enjoyment of the story, we intend to leave the most critical details within the game itself.
Instead, information that may help with understanding the world will be carefully reviewed internally and shared gradually.
New Location – Factory Grounds
Alongside the worldbuilding revisions, we have also adjusted the game’s opening flow.
Previously, Dorasyeoda began immediately inside the factory’s main building, quickly leading players straight into the incident.
This time, to help players step more naturally into the world of New Joseon, we are adding a new area: the Factory Grounds (the exterior of the main factory building).
In this space, you will be able to encounter various NPCs living their lives in New Joseon—and if you observe your surroundings closely, you may discover something unexpected.
UI / UX Improvements
In line with the addition of new locations, the tutorial has also been revised across the board.

We have moved away from the previous method of delivering explanations through somewhat restrictive “instruction screens”, and instead redesigned the tutorial to be understood more naturally through the flow of gameplay.
Internal testing has shown a significant improvement compared to before, and we hope players will feel the same.
In addition, most of the game’s UI resources have been replaced.

These include assets that retain their original form but feature refined details, as well as UI elements that have been redesigned in an entirely new direction.
About Chapter 1
This is likely the part many of you are most curious about.
Chapter 1 is being prepared as a story set within the royal palace of New Joseon.
Centered around a murder case that takes place within the palace, this chapter will delve more deeply into the world of New Joseon and the people who inhabit it.
We would like to first reveal the silhouette of one of the characters who will appear.

Is this person the culprit? The victim? Or merely a woman of the palace who passes by unnoticed…?
We are working diligently so that you can discover this character’s role firsthand within the story of Chapter 1.
This concludes our current development update.
Everything shared today is either in active development or in preparation for an upcoming update.
These efforts are not only for Chapter 1, but part of a broader process of rebuilding the narrative and systems with Chapters 2 and 3 in mind.
Visible changes may feel slow at times, but we are taking deliberate steps to see Dorasyeoda through to completion.
No matter how long it takes, delivering this story to the end has remained our unwavering goal since the project first began.
We deeply value your patience and will continue development with that trust in mind.
Thank you, sincerely, for walking this journey with us.
Sincerely, Merlin's Attic
