Backrooms Cycle Patch Notes — March 10, 2024

We are thrilled to announce a major update to the game!
Total rework of scientist outpost.
New questline, enemy, and NPC.
Numerous systems have been revamped.
A lot of bugs have been fixed.
Added various in-game flavor elements.
Patch Notes for the Latest Build:
Sanity Changes:
Being in the dark now has a chance to decrease your sanity.
Removed reverse look controls.
Reduced sanity damage from enemies.
Weapon Changes:
You can now reload weapons using bullet boxes instead of magazines.
New weapons added: Uzi, Sten, MG42, and laser artifact.
Updated item spawn mechanics.
Poolrooms Outpost:
Henry can duplicate owned cards.
Updated Trader.
Added additional NPCs and player rooms/hideouts.
The game now starts in the poolrooms.
Level Fun:
Multiple partygoers added..
Advancing the quest with Jenny/Alice now possible by dropping a plushie obtained from partygoers by making a cake.
Asylumrooms:
Collider and door fixes.
Added card spawn and asylumrooms questline along with new scientist - Jeremy.
Introduced asylum enemies.
Boss Changes:
Different cards from various biomes required to confront the boss.
Boss enters a second stage once below 50% HP.
Quests Changes:
New asylumroom questline.
Completion of the kinderrooms questline.
Other Changes:
Henry can craft another card of the same type if shown a card and you possess 10 cigarettes.
Added achievements.
Implemented a new realistic lighting system with baked realtime global illumination and flashlight support for navigating darkroom zones.
Various UI adjustments.
Fixed camera glitches.
Improved hit effects.
Optimized weapon muzzle flash.
Fixed item spawn issues in multiplayer.
Corrected weapon positions.
Increased single item spawns in zones.
Added posters explaining entities in the game world.
Skills are retained after death.
