CRYODEATH – MASSIVE OVERHAUL UPDATE
Hunt Mode Expansion • Core Systems Rework • QoL Mega-Pass • Fixes Across the Board
This overhaul is the biggest step forward CRYODEATH has taken since development began.
We’ve rebuilt core systems, reworked tutorials, upgraded weapons and tools, introduced new rooms and encounters, and crushed a mountain of bugs thanks to your testing and feedback.
Below is a consolidated breakdown of everything included across the Hunt update
🔥 Major Gameplay & System Overhauls
Hunt Mode
Hunt mode.
New shaft type added with increased encounter probability.
Creature AI adjustments: harder to shake off, more reactive, and better pathing.
“Mother” now plays audio hints when it skips a spawn but scans a nearby shaft.
Blaster Rework
Introduction of the Blaster as a new weapon.
Close-range damage fixed and made more dangerous — shooting point-blank now backfires into the player.
Blaster can now harm you. Respect it.
Plasma registration and impact logic improved.
Movement Improvements
Running can now be used with thumbstick movement.
Run direction tied to HMD for smoother, more intuitive navigation.
Hitting an obstacle at full sprint triggers camera shake.
Updated crouch system: crouch toggle added, and auto-uncrouch when sprinting.
🛠️ Core Interaction & Physics Updates
Wrist Tool Overhaul
New rich-text UI system.
Better physical interaction across tools.
Kinetic module no longer throws objects into orbit.
Tools with magnetic modules auto-snap to surfaces when active.
Inventory & Crafting
Craft sockets now visible from all angles in holo mode.
Inventory checks for space before opening.
Extra crafting parts added to the tutorial so players can recover from mistakes.
Core cell, UB socket, and multiple plug-in logic fixed.
Grab & Interaction Improvements
Increased grab distance for handles.
Broken glass no longer blocks grabbing.
More accurate scan pings.
Better holster detection and highlighting.
Sounds + haptic feedback added during grabs.
🏗️ World, Rooms, and Objects
New rooms added.
Several old rooms fully revised.
A number of old assets improved/updated.
Emergency lock buttons now physical.
Fire extinguisher effect is stronger and more visible.
Window texture update.
Shaft encounter audio logic implemented.
🎮 Tutorial & UI Enhancements
Tutorial descriptions now clearer, cleaner, and more visual.
“Bigger letterz, more picturez!”
Some tutorial videos remade for clarity and performance.
Additional tutorial display panels added.
Battery in tutorial now always spawns at 100%.
Blaster training adjusted.
Mission objectives for Missions 9–12 reworked for better pacing.
🔧 Quality-of-Life Improvements
Better fonts with reduced bloom and scanlines.
Wider kinetic sensor radius (easier object highlighting).
Cryopod door now has a proper safety collision check.
Crouch system reworked for convenience.
Glowsticks brighter.
Boxes can now be opened simply by grabbing.
Slam effect only triggers when upper body impacts during sprint.
Objectives now filled with rich text.
🐞 Bug Fixes — Dozens of Them
Highlights include:
Elevator hole fixes.
Auto-closing card mission elevator door fix.
Game Over Continue button fixed.
Activated bombs now tick even far from the player.
Arc explosion and status-effect logic rewritten.
Scan highlight fixes.
Lever and emergency button interaction fixes.
Holo states, gun locker checks, and socket plug-in logic corrected.
Grab distance tuning.
Double mission overlap prevented.
9-Square minigame completely rebuilt from scratch.
Many small but meaningful fixes requested by testers.
