SULFUR Patch Notes — June 2, 2026

Big patch - We’ve added one of the biggest long-term progression systems to SULFUR so far!
Welcome Telia to the world of SULFUR. She’s here to research weapon blueprints for the survival of mankind. Sacrifice Rank 5 guns to her, and she’ll make them permanently available to manufacture for a cost. You can then purchase fresh base versions for a cost If you’ve ever had a favorite gun type you really didn’t want to lose - now you have options, but they won't come for free.
Oh, but that’s not all. Save slots are now in the game, so you can share with your brothers and sisters, and spouses, and that friend you don't want to mess with your shit. Also the new difficulty settings are tied to each save slot, so that same friend can keep more of their stuff and enjoy the game even with skill issues. We have also added gamepad aim assist, introduce two new weapons, and a whole bunch of balancing, fixes and level improvements made their way in as well.
Enemies now behave a bit differently too. Some can stay back, flank, and try to ambush you instead of always running straight into death. Which felt unfair to everyone.
As always, since there are some bigger changes in this update, there may be some unintended consequences. We’ll be keeping an eye on the bugs channel in Our Discord and hotfix any serious issues as quickly as possible.
Progression, Save Slots & Difficulty
New NPC: Telia.
New Service Station: Replicator.
Sacrifice Rank 5 weapons to permanently unlock manufacturing access for a cost.
Save slots added.
Difficulty settings added and tied to individual save slots, limiting how much you lose on death. Hard is the default "roguelite" difficulty.
Save scumming by pressing ALT + F4 will no longer save you from the death screen. If you want to do that, you better do it before your health reaches zero.


General
Added aim assist options for controllers. On very low by default, try them out in settings.
You can now save and quit between floors, and between endless mode stages
New achievements for Telia
Emperor explosions switched to the new system.
Explosions no longer affect the player’s velocity until we figure out some cool explosion knockback system.
Enemies can now stay back and attempt to ambush players for more varied encounters.
Shooting enemies no longer damages other enemies, preventing them from killing each other.
Lowered the difficulty in some specific Endless waves.
A memory leak was fixed.
Food now queues in your stomach, and you will digest the fastest health gain first.
Novanian Guards are now able to destroy breakable walls with their swing attack.
New Throwing Knife animations.
New Weapons
New weapon: Chimera Rapid, a 5.56mm SMG
New weapon: Black Water, a 50 BMG Revolver

Bugfixes & Balancing
Railguns now penetrate all enemies as they should
Cryo grenade explosion decal is back to normal. No square.
Skeletons now spawn "organs" (bones) as they should.
Dead skeletons now get destroyed by rail guns.
Emperor physics improved.
Bullet drop now affects laser weapons again, as it did before.
Novanian Guards Helmet break effect now actually makes sense.
Novanian Guard no longer has a wonky hitbox on the "core". Hopefully.
Novanian Guards are now able to destroy breakable walls with their swing attack.
Fixed an issue where the car could get stuck at the end of the game.
Fixed Black Guild Tracker mask.
Rockets are now no longer choppy in slow motion.
Fixed rendering issue on Lucia’s face.
Civilian Man now has human organs instead of goblin organs.
Fixed an issue where the locked door in Caves 5 could incorrectly open.
Shav’Wa Wardens and Craw Sentinels no longer enter invulnerable states when attacked by enemy NPCs.
Resetting increased service costs through Arthur’s dialogue now costs 5 Stamps instead of 1.
DHL Demon no longer resets the Holoreality Projector when resetting shops.
Throwable projectiles from Shav’Wa Grenadier, Cousin and Witch now appear again.
Adjusted Rokua’s fire rate and animation transitions to prevent fire spamming.
Adjusted Rokua’s Gun Crank size to prevent animation clipping.
Removed Augusta’s firing spam bug when transitioning to and from ADS.
Fixed an issue of the player getting locked when using the amulet during level transitions.
Fixed an issue of getting invalid dialogue options when using the amulet during level transitions.
Fixed an issue in endless where the last wave of enemies would erroneously transition to the next stage.
Gravekeeper muzzle attachments now no longer have a weird gap
Levels
Dungeon has a new entrance from Hedgemaze.
Castle shortcut from Hedgemaze has been remade.
Lucia castle is now visible in the outside onboarding area.
Church Hub has received some visual upgrades.
Fixed various collision related issues in Caves.
Fixed various overlapping issues in Caves,
Fixed some pathing issues in Caves.
Fixed items spawning underneath tables in Castle.
Fixed floating grass in Pools.
Fixed hole in Emperor Palace entrance.
Fixed various level generation issues in Desert.
Fixed half buried barrels in the Desert dropping loot underground.
Removed collision on the exit glow in crypts.
Fixed some visual issues in the End Boss level.
Fixed Desert Claus getting stuck in pillars in Endless sometimes.
