Customisable input-mappings and additional accessibility features coming soon!
DISHARMONY Patch Notes — July 4, 2023
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Hi, everyone! DISHARMONY has now been out for about 3½ days, and I thought it would be nice to give people an idea of what kind of updates to expect in the near future.
As you will be aware if you've played the game for pretty much any time at all, the game does not currently allow you to change its default input-mapping, that is to say, you have to use the default controls. While most players so far seem to be fine with the default controls, I definitely understand why some people may find the lack of customisability frustrating.
This is going to change in the near future. I plan on implementing another screen for the options menu where you're able to change the rhythm inputs to pretty much anything you want. The only difficult part is ensuring the inputs don't cause contradictions (It would be pretty strange if you could map one key to press every button, or something of the sort).
I can't say for sure when this update will be released, but I'll make sure to release another announcement here once it's ready.
I'm also planning on expanding the amount of accessibility features for the game.
Currently, the game offers one accessibility option, which adds an equipable difficulty-reducing item to your inventory. While this does make the game much easier, and ensures pretty much everyone can get through the game, I do want there to be more options for those who still wish to experience the game more-or-less as intended.
The first additional features to be added while likely be:
- The ability to disable note-spam punishment damage
- The ability to hold down a key to hit a note, instead of pressing it
The ability to disable boss/enemy gimmicks will also be added in the future, but this requires significantly more work, and will therefor take longer to implement and release.
(If you have suggestions for other potential features that might help more people play the game, please get in touch!)
That will be all for now.
Thank you for playing DISHARMONY!
