Astro Colony News — June 18, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Hey Astro Colonists!
Another balance update has just been released. Please get the latest version on Steam!
The costs for all technologies in the second and third universes have been adjusted. This should make the game more accessible!
Additionally, many systems have been improved, and recently reported bugs have been fixed.
Check out the changelog below:
TECH TREE CHANGES

As you can see there is a huge cost cut, especially in the beginning of the second universe.
Cultivation before cost 400 basic science AND 400 biology, right now it is only 80 biology!
There is no need of having this huge grind in the beginning of the second universe!
IMPROVEMENTS & FIXES
fixed breaking links of logic blocks when rotating a blueprint
improved cable cars that should not get stuck (if they still do please let me know)
fixed working effect for circular saw
tech tree universes II and III rebalanced
fixed a rare crash when trying to fix a burning device
picked plants should now give 4 science points - instead 0
fixed an issue where human would lose head when kicked from the building
fixed multiplayer issue where awaiting human for training would not have head
fixed multiplayer creating AI issue, that new AI would be assigned to the wrong grid cell - this was eventually causing some problems when playing long
trace collision improved, so decorations are not accidently opened when interacting with a device
multiplayer "Base Warehouse" not syncing state for client when loading
transport bots ignoring requests for rare conditions where device inventory was full
WORK IN PROGRESS
The game as you may noticed got a few negative reviews. This came to me unexpected, since I believe the state of the game is way better than it was when coming out to Early Access almost 4 years ago.

It was a very long journey with 7 major updates and hundreds of improvements, so I want to continue to improve state of the game. It makes sense to save it, so more players can discover the game and enjoy it like me!
I think an update like this will help to convince casual players trying the game for the first time!
I believe the next essential step toward achieving an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating is:
having a system to detect desync in multiplayer
having ways to manage slot limits and inventories
improving balance and better explain the game and what it's all about (docking planets)
full controller support, so we can release on consoles and get more audience
