Hi, everyone. Welcome to the first developer's diary after my return from my special operation somewhere outside mainland China. Even in an age of AI, there are still many things that require my personal involvement on the ground.
So, where was I?
It's just like pre-1961 Berlin, but as soon as I landed, East Germany decided to build the wall.

It was no secret that many businesses in China have close relationships with Russia since the Western sanctions over the war. Before this week, many family-related businesses were only restricted under my decree. But things are changing.

China announced tighter restrictions on mainlanders opening overseas bank accounts.

You may not believe how many Russians are in this “Berlin.”
Maybe they are escaping the war.
Maybe they prefer the weather here.
Or maybe they are nomads doing visa runs.

After a few hours, I actually came to like this young man from Moscow a lot.
The world is a dark place. Neither of us really likes many things in our countries. Yet, defying all difficulties, we are still trying to control our own fate. Even if we may not succeed every time. We do not surrender. We do not give up. We seek ways to overcome obstacles, no matter how impossible they seem. We talked about Dostoyevsky. We talked about the Orthodox beliefs. We talked about politics. We talked about world views. We talked about how ungrateful those people in Europe are. Both of us need to take extra steps to use certain AIs and financial services. Even a stable, uncensored internet connection can be a luxury good to common folks in our world. All those people in Western Europe got them for free as their birthright. Yet, they keep wasting them. They even want to put on shackles for themselves by introducing age verifications and VPN bans. Maybe in the 2005 movie Constantine, Gabriel is right to bring suffering to those ungrateful people so that the unworthy are wiped away before the final judgment. Yet, it’s not our place to play God. What we are doing now is merely carrying our crosses. Over 21 years of meat-grinding updates of NEOLITHIA are meaningful in such a fallen world outside. Through our endurance, we are growing spiritually every moment.

I am back in Shanghai.

The seed has been planted. How the butterfly will fly is still to be witnessed.
Don’t ask the cost of such a trip.
Ask whether you can afford not to take it and waste your entire life with nothing memorable in the end.
NEOLITHIA is all about our memories on this journey.

But the main game content update is now back to normal. The development time is highly compressed because of the journey. But I still get something done.
Budanov encourages people to play Go. But from the board he posted, you can easily see he is not good at it. Yet, he is right. The current meat-grinding war is a Go game that requires multidimensional thinking and patience to exploit the enemy's mistakes.
Thus, we shall have it in our game anyway. With some twist.
This is the Donbas GO!
Unlike many previous mini-games in NEOLITHIA, you can actually play the Russian side. After all, such a mini-game is installed in a certain place in Siberia. It will be quite out of character if a Russian officer installs a pro-Ukraine mini-game on his computer. Thus, this is more neutral. You can even play it locally with a friend. It’s mostly just GO with a bit of reskin. You can also gain some GPA coins if you figure out how to bully the AI. (Technically, I can give you LLM-based Go AI. But I don’t think people will want to install an extra 4GB just for that. Thus, it’s currently just using some very old-school not-so-smart AI.)
Meanwhile, a new faith tenet just appeared.
The theme of this week’s special operation on the ground.

Yes, there are fears. Fear of the unknown. Fear of failure. Fear of losing. Fear that all actions are meaningless in the end. That’s human. This tenet does not give you fear immunity or even resistance. But it nullifies the actual effects of fear through faith.
And it’s through faith that the kingdom will come!
One more thing, a bit of a change to the update policy. The daily update is a discipline practice for quite a long time. However, it becomes problematic to set up a deadline every day. It’s no longer the most efficient way to put in a large chunk of content without interruption. Thus, the update will now be more flexible. I will see if that can further improve the efficiency.
