Circle Empires Tactics Patch Notes — April 27, 2022
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Dear commanders!
Thank you for the feedback you've given to us since launch! We've made some exciting changes to Circle Empires Tactics in this new patch, including single-player balance, unit unlocking, and tutorialization.
Single Player Rebalance
The biggest change coming with this patch is the way the single player game mode is balanced. In the previous system, the world would scale with your performance, ensuring that every battle would pose a challenge in its own way. We've changed this to a more static overworld difficulty that will reward commanders for playing well, and vice versa. You can now 'catch up' with the power of enemy circles, while also risk falling behind the power curve if you don't manage your resources well.
We'd recommend playing around with the different difficulty settings and see what works best for you in the new system!

Tutorial
We've moved the tutorial to a separate instance you can load up whenever you start a single player game. This makes it easier for new players to learn the basics, while also not annoying veteran commanders when they start a new game!

Other Changes
- Increased default game speeds from 1x to 2x in singleplayer and from 0.5 to 1 in multiplayer
- 1st Monsterhunt has more interesting overworld layout and features quest givers
- Area Of Effect token is available in shop, but more expensive, so it's something to work towards
- Area of Effect token can no longer be received as reward from collecting stars
- Reduced max opponent creatures in regular battle from 25 to 10
- Battles with special victory condition are 2x more rare
- Made easy difficulty harder to reduce cap between easy and normal
- AI no longer gains any "caster gains health" tokens
- AI would never have more than 1 cast of health potion
- Retrying battle would use the same seed, derived from worldcircle.x and y, so the unit placement does not change and makes it less of a dice roll to retry battles
- Make second zone on the first map not a treasure zone
- Lower quest giver circle strength bonus from 8x to 6x strength compared to regular circle at that distance.
- Reduced strength of the semi-random extra strength circles that popped up every 2-3 circles from 3x to 2 in start area and from 2x to 1.5x in other areas
- Reduced area guard strength bonus
- Removed strength bonus for final boss because it was too strong when it was far away
- Numerous fixes and clarity improvements
And that's the list for today's patch. Give the new single player a try and let us know what you think, commanders!
