The Codex Update 1.1.5
Colonials Programme Patch Notes — June 20, 2021
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Hello everybody! It is about that time again, where a new update to Colonials Programme is released! This time, I wanted to make some quality of life improvements to the game.
I've gotten some inspiration for this while I was playing some other games. And I realized that CP could use an upgrade on how the game mechanics are being presented. For example, the tutorial screens are rather wordy and not always clear. Furthermore, it is tucked away in the menu screen, where it is difficult to access. So, I decided to come up with this "Codex" feature for the game.
Check it out:
In this update, you can now click on the elements, essentials (power, water etc.) Or right click the build machine buttons to bring up the codex entry. The codex details what the thing you clicked is, and how you can utilize it. The various terms used are colour coded according to it's category. (Blue for elements, green for essentials, red for others.) Also, you can click on each of these terms or the icons under the recipes tab, and it'll bring up the codex entry for that.
Colonials Programme is a rather abstract game and it has always been daunting to understand at first. So, I hope this system will make information on the game easily accessible and intuitive. Not just for new players, but for all you veterans of the game too! Oh, and I made some minor improvements to the game's initial tutorial sequences too!
It has been a while since CP was released, and honestly, sometimes I'm amazed at how far the game has come. CP looked and felt very different on launch date, and I am really happy to see the game grow into something much more. Of course, all of this wouldn't be possible without your support! It brings me joy when I see a post or review stating that you guys actually liked the game, and I cannot thank you enough for that! But with that, as I said in my last post, a new expansion is currently in the works. And I am very excited about it! So here's another little sneak-peek of a new machine called the "Refugium"!

Stay tuned for the next update!
