Realm Engine | Virtual Tabletop Patch Notes — April 23, 2021

It's finally here! This update includes lots of "quality of life" changes, and several new features. You'll find a video below that explains it in a bit more details, as well as our Patch Notes posted below. But let's quickly go over some highlights...
First Person Mode
You can now view, and build your scenes from a first-person perspective!
Refurbished UI!
Paint, build, and even the main menu screens all have undergone revamps that will make it easier to navigate.
Fog of war!
The fog of war feature has returned, with some easier tools.
Updates:
- Fog of war is back, with a few changes (Holding the ‘F’ key now brings up the FOW eraser)
- Holding ctrl and using the middle mouse will scale up or down the size of the fog of war eraser.
- Objects now rotate 90 degrees when in grid mode.
- The Game autosaves every 60 seconds.
- Delete has been changed (Hold the Delete key and click on the item to remove)
- The game now has credits in the main menu.
- The main menu got an overhaul (thanks to NoTheVarb)
- You can now paint on walls and foundations (Ctrl + Placing the items when placing walls use the cycle snapping mode for the best result)
- You can now paint on all objects with a slight delay (Ctrl + Placing the items )
- Added an fps counter in the RE logo at the top left.
- Graphics settings now save with each map.
- Workshop downloading now has a progress bar.
- Lighting menus got redesigned.
- The Tabletop menu now allows you to move any direction 1 tile at a time.
- The Tabletop menu now has a zoom slider.
- The Tabletop menu now has a Field of view slider.
- The Tabletop menu now has a home button.
- Audio mixes now save with maps.
- Intro movie added.
- Stone texture for painting now matches the stone foundations.
- 2D & 3D paint now has images to represent the paint layer.
- Crystals now change colour.
- Eraser icon added to paint menu.
- 3D sculpting and Paint menu has undergone an overhaul.
- foliage now switches on Grass
- blank material removed from 3D sculpting
- Added in Internal Stairs
- Added in Castle Walls
- Darkness Spell added.
- Added Animated Deer, Doe and a Fox.
- Added Dungeon Floor Torch
- Added mirror
- Multiplayer Ui Updated.
Bug Fixes:
- The lighting & weather system now saves and loads correctly.
- Rectangle selection mode got fixed, now only item fully enclosed will be selected
- Walls now attach to the sides of each other without increasing the level.
- Roof pieces now rotate whilst holding shift and fit together a lot better.
- Fixed how the camera works. it should not be so violent anymore.
- Imported models and audio now copy to your save file so that they will transfer to the workshop.
- Imported assets no longer keep the pawns Collison
- Candles position glitch fixed
- The light menu now retains selected light colours
- The rectangle selection box no longer selects invisible items.
- Fixed lights that opened settings on left click instead of right
- Ceilings now snap to sloped roofs
- Removed the immortal Deer.
- Experimental features:
- First-person mode added to use the f10 key to toggle
- Procedural dungeons and forests have been added to the paint menu.
- Multiplayer is now live for those in the Patreon and beta testing groups.
- Multiplayer now has an invite system.
- Multiplayer has Voice chat.
- Num + key is Push to talk.
Known issues:
- Copy, paste, and transformations are not currently undoable.
- Fog of war does not save yet.
- Workshop maps' names must remain the same as in the game. If you wish to rename your map save a copy in-game with the new name then upload that file.
