Hey everybody!
We've got some really big news to share with you today as we can finally reveal... Kitaria Fables 2!
This next entry in the series follows on from the events of Kitaria Fables and introduces two new heroes, Alice Skylar and Dusty Tuftkin, as they join up with the Royal Academy Expedition Team on a mission to a never-before-seen region of Kitaria, the remote Arkadera Peninsula.
Check out the announcement trailer as revealed during today's Galaxies Spring Showcase:
Since the release of Kitaria Fables back in 2021, we received a huge amount of feedback from you, our wonderful community, and this feedback has been invaluable in helping us to shape Kitaria Fables 2. With this in mind, we thought it would be helpful to share with you the main areas that we've been focusing on:
1. Multiple playable characters with their own unique identities: In Kitaria Fables 2 you'll be playing as not one, but two different heroes! Alice and Dusty are fully realised characters, with their own unique personalities, playstyles to discover and abilities to master. The dynamics between the two heroes are really fun and interesting, and you'll be able to freely switch between both characters throughout your adventure!
2. Flexible co-op modes designed from the ground up: Creating a solid two player co-op experience was essential, and with the introduction of Alice and Dusty, both players will now have equally important role to play. Player 2 can also drop in and drop out at any point in the game which means that Player 1 can continue to progress their adventure without needing a different save. However, the biggest change this time around is the introduction of local and online co-op modes which will allow even more people to connect and enjoy Kitaria together.
3. A bigger open world: Kitaria Fables 2 takes place in the Arkadera Peninsula, a remote region on the Western continent. Compared to Canoidera, this part of Kitaria is designed to feel much more expansive and wild, being made up of many large open areas. Because of this you'll notice that the number of loading screens are significantly reduced! To make it easier to navigate these larger environments we've moved to a third person camera which allows you to freely rotate and tilt to get the most comfortable view.
4. More ways to progress: We've made the conscious decision to move away from the equipment-based progression system in Kitaria Fables to a more traditional experience-based system. Of course equipment and crafting still play an important role, but you'll now be able to develop Alice and Dusty more frequently thanks to experience points gained from completing quests, defeating enemies and bosses, and even gathering materials! This means that every action you perform will contribute towards progression! To complement this new system we're adding lots of new side content in the form of optional quests, timed events, challenging monster hunts, and hidden secrets!
5. The best of both worlds: Of course we've been careful to keep the essential ingredients that made the first Kitaria Fables so enjoyable. Item crafting has been expanded further so that now you can now craft potions, cook your own dishes, as well as improve the quality of your existing weapon and armour sets. Farming is back and bigger than ever with even more exotic crops to grow, tasty recipes to learn, and even a farmstead to restore from scratch! We've also added a new quick select wheel for weapons and farming equipment to make it even easier to tend your crops. Eagle-eyed players might have noticed a few familiar faces in our announcement trailer. Kiki will be on hand to guide your agricultural efforts, but more importantly Hazel and Albinus will return with both characters once again playing a central role in the story. We're excited to introduce a whole cast of new characters as well, from the well-meaning but hopelessly disorganised Administrator Fawn, to skilled young blacksmith Maya, and chaotic baker extraordinaire, Louis.
We hope you'll appreciate the changes that we've made in response to your suggestions, and we'll also be running playtests for Kitaria Fables 2 in the coming months, so there's plenty of time to be more involved! More details on this soon...
For now we're excited to share a sneak peak of what's in store, read on to find out more...
⛵The story so far...

Across the great expanse of the Endless Ocean lies the Arkadera Peninsula, a distant region that once marked the western edge of the Empire. As the years passed and the Empire’s presence began to fade, the outposts that once protected Arkadera’s citizens were gradually reclaimed by nature, leaving behind a small community to take refuge in the walled haven of Whitewall Town.
Eager to prove their skills in the field, ambitious Royal Army ‘Pathfinder’ Alice Skylar and plucky local guide Dusty Tuftkin join up with the Royal Academy Expedition Team on its mission to reopen Whitewall Town’s fabled errand house, explore the wide peninsula, and restore the long-forgotten outposts.
But as the expedition journeys farther into the north, rumours of a mysterious figure deep within the wilderness slowly begin to surface…
🐰⚔️ Introducing the new heroes!

Alice Skylar - An ambitious, young Royal Army Pathfinder, Alice has been sent to the Arkadera Peninsula to support the Royal Academy’s Expedition Team as they survey the wilds and help reconnect Whitewall Town with the rest of the Empire. As a child, she studied at the Academy, where Whitewall’s apothecary, Periwinkle, nurtured her love of herbalism and potioncraft. Thanks to her education Alice earned a place in the Royal Army’s new pathfinder program, where she blossomed into a skilled fighter, eventually graduating at the top of her class. Bright and conscientious, Alice understands how important her first real-world assignment is, and she’s determined to give it her all!

Dusty Tuftkin - An energetic youth from Arkadera’s Whitewall Town, Dusty is currently training as an apprentice baker under the watchful eye of his uncle Louis. Inspired by stories of his mother, a legendary warrior on a campaign in a distant land, Dusty dreams of a more adventurous life. He’s even gone so far as to appoint himself as the town’s ‘unofficial’ protector, and regularly explores the wilderness outside its walls, much to the dismay of his aunt Wisteria. Upon learning of Alice’s imminent arrival and the Expedition Team’s mission, Dusty sees his chance and volunteers to be their local guide.
