Gold Hunter Patch Notes — May 22, 2026
Aggregated from Steam, cross-tracked with Battle.net coverage on GamePatchNote.
Today we have some hot news for you that will make your pickaxe glow. As you already know, we are working hard behind the scenes on a massive Major Update.
To illustrate just how much is changing under the hood, we are making a huge leap in versions: We will leave the current version 0.6467 Alpha behind with the next update and jump straight to 0.7 Alpha!
This shows you right away: No stone will be left unturned here.
Before the update finally sees the light of day, we will keep you up to date with a total of 3 Devblogs. That way, you will always know exactly how far the progress is.
We are currently planning the release for the 3rd quarter.
The Summer Slump and Your Support
Of course, we are aware that with the current temperatures, many of you prefer to sizzle outside in the real sun rather than digging for nuggets in the virtual mud. We are currently noticing this in the player numbers and revenue as well – the well-known summer slump has hit!Especially right now, we are incredibly happy if you continue to support us:
Fire up the game and go hunting for gold!
Report bugs you find directly in-game by pressing F8.
Share your suggestions and feedback with us.
Your activity ensures that we survive this summer slump unharmed and stay around for a very long time to come!We already hinted at it in the last news: We are implementing Voxel 2.0, a completely new character system, and a new vehicle system. Such massive core changes eat up an extreme amount of time – especially since I am doing this all by myself. Of course, I have mods who regularly test the game thoroughly, but it has to be made first.
Due to this huge overhaul, we also have to touch and rework many other systems in the game. In addition, we are working flat out on multiplayer improvements and dedicated servers.

That adds up to a lot of work! We therefore ask for your patience. In return, we will supply you with fresh information on a regular basis from now on.
The New Map
The most important news first: The foundations for Voxel 2.0 are already standing! The new character system is also implemented in its basic form. Because Voxel 2.0 offers so many possibilities, we will completely overhaul the game world as well. Our current map is already no small sandbox at 9x9 km (81 km²). But we are taking it a massive step further: The new map will be a proud 13x13 km in size – that is 169 square kilometers of pure gold digger freedom! The basic layout (where things used to be) remains similar, but everything will be bigger, more beautiful, and offer more space to dig. Here is what awaits you on the new map:
New "Outback" Biom: Dusty, hot, and full of opportunities.
More Claims: Instead of the previous 3 claims, we have already built in 6 claims with a total of 29 plots (more to follow!).
More Privacy: The plots are further apart so you can have your peace and quiet from the neighbors while mining.
Return of the Beginner Claims: A piece of information that many of you will be particularly happy about!

The Raw Numbers of the New Map
Unfortunately, we don't have exact comparison data for the old map handy right now, but the new statistics speak for themselves. Look forward to:
more than 40 lakes
more than 20 rivers with a total length of over 100 kilometers
over 250 kilometers of roads to get lost and turned around on
over 50 kilometers of train tracks
Visual Comparison: "Redwood" Biom
Here is a small foretaste for you. The featured biome isn't quite finished yet, but you will spot the difference instantly: The thin, low-detail trees from the past are finally history!

The Village Becomes a City!
A massive amount of work has also gone into the urban area. Where there used to be only about 10 buildings standing around (some of which had no function), a real city now stretches out with over 50 buildings! Not every single one of them will be usable right at the launch of the update, but most already have a fixed purpose.
